But none of it is quite as exciting as creating and co-creating original games and systems. See them here!

One Page RPG (since 2022) is the approach that started it all for Red in the game writing world. Story & Saga are the adventures created from her workshop. It was the initial seed and core foundation of Dungeon Race RPG (developing since 2022 from One-Page, to World-Specific TTRPG, to System); it gave elements to 1PDD (brought to life by game partner Tiffany Rose Nickel ); and it expanded to Prep & Play, the mechanics side of One Page RPG. The One Page RPG way is how Red approaches every game she writes, game novelization, or LitRPG story, whether on her own, as a writer for hire, or in partnership on Red Rose Works systems or with other collaborators.

It all began with her workshop, but her workshop began long before it was created. It combined a:

  • Lifetime of Storytelling - for the Story-centric approach;

  • Decades of Nonfiction Structure - for finding the most basic arcs and themes;

  • Novelizing Skills - for setting tone and character flexibility, as well as her full-sensory methods;

  • Affinity for Gameplay (of all kinds) - and specifically creating the sandbox where people simply have fun connecting together around a table (that is the primary point, after all); and

  • Rule-of-Three Teaching Approach used in twenty years of teaching (from elementary to University level) writing in many formats & genres (and thirty years in creating it) - natural human manner in which we engage, while creating, reading, or playing. One would be hard-pressed not to see the rule-of-three throughout all of Red's work.

Truly all of those pieces of her career have lent aspects to the "Create Your Own One-Page RPG" Workshops (now split into "Adventure" and "Mechanics" versions), and that workshop, in turn, is the foundation for everything Red has done in the game writing, design, and development world.

Red is a linguist and a puzzle and pattern creator who develops work on a model that allows "creativity within structure." She's adamant about editorial impeccability and foundations, with room for light and play through relatable characters and experiences. This was true in her early poetry and plays, showed through rhyme, rhythm, and repetition in her children's writing years, and allowed her to remain prolific in her decade plus of nonfiction and Christian Fiction. It made sportswriting a natural fit, combining athletics and story in a shared dance. It allows her to put out her current fiction of often dual-perspective novels, as well as her ability to create short stories across genres for the anthologies she runs and in which she participates. Landing in game writing, which naturally was alongside much of the genre fiction world into which she started pouring, did not feel like a transition, so much as a culmination of the decades of travels through genres. She sees pieces and where they should fall. She's proud of this skill-her unique ability with words-though certainly not an exclusive ability as she's been able to look up to and work with so many other incredible creatives over the years, as well.

Below, find not just the games, but game-adjacent works (books, collections, workshops, and resources) that have come out of the inspirations that built Red's specific approach to game fiction, development, and design.

Gudnak Means War

I was honored to be one of a NYT bestselling and award-winning writing team (including Ed Greenwood, Jennifer Brozek,  Christopher D. Schmitz, and many more), to novelize this cheeky tower defense game. Get the book, the game, or both! Hoping to do much more with this exciting game from Chaotic Great Gaming.

Beginning with "The Martian Campaign"

Delayed until 2027, this combination of the greatest fiction from history, combined with short adventures and original short stories has been in the works since 2024. Ray Bradbury's work inspired our first collection featuring today's top game writers.

The Workshops!

Take the class that started it all! This workshop is best when enjoyed in person and in a group setting at one of the events where Red brings her programming, but the solo programs with accompanying videos are the next best option! Coming soon!

Infinite Stefania Variant HC Mockup.png

Infinite Stefania

My unique take on LitRPG, Infinite Stefania is part video game, part TTRPG (using the Dungeon Race RPG system), and part choose your own path story. Short reads, great pocket books, and all of the saucy character interaction you expect from LitRPG.
